I work from home off and on throughout the week and lately have been enjoying the natural light the dining room provides. I got a new app for my iPad/computer called
that allows me to use my iPad as a second monitor while I work, and so far I'm loving it. It is a bit on the pricey side, but if you often find you don't have enough real-estate on your monitor, check it out. (Side note: I also have a desktop computer & monitor that I use, but it is in the office, which tends to be a bit dark. I'm currently brainstorming a couple of projects to brighten up the space to make it more work-friendly.)
I picked up Gretchen Rubin's new book
at the airport on Thursday and have already gotten halfway through. I've taken down some notes in my phone on habits I'm working to form, and I'm excited to share more about that here! If you haven't read her books yet, I highly recommend
as a starting point.
I'll also be sharing my March budget purchases on Monday, so stay tuned for that. Sneak peak (pun intended)
These bangs are quickly becoming my favorite thing about my hair. I've noticed that I need a tiny bit more makeup on my eyes, but instead of starting a new, complex makeup routine right away, I've made two easy changes. For one, I got more of a cat-eye with my lash extensions, which helps extend the look of them out to the corners more. Secondly, I never skip eyebrow mousse to help darken my brows. It's impossible to see in this photo, but in real life, my brows show through just enough to define my face, which is crucial. Otherwise the light brown brows blend in completely and I look like I don't have any at all! My favorite is
We got new knives, new pots and pans, and a new kitchen layout recently, so Travis has been spending a ton of time in the kitchen cooking. I came home the other day to a manhattan (my favorite drink) and some cheese and crackers to snack on while he prepared the rest of dinner. Definitely the way to my heart.
You guys probably saw that we went out to the Washington coast last weekend with our cousins for a weekend of razor clamming. We were super successful and hit our limit on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday, which meant we got to bring a TON of razor clams home. Any favorite clam chowder recipes out there? I feel even more in love with Lily, the pup in the photos below, and it is making it even harder to come to terms with the fact that we will stay a dog-free household for a while. As much as I can, I'll keep loving on the pups in my life until our schedules become more dog-friendly!
Before March says good-bye, I'll share my budget for the month of March.
I'll talk a bit about my not-so-great Le Tote shipment I received this week.
Some new shoes will make an appearance.
I'll receive my first Blue Apron order and give it a try.
Travis will talk about...just kidding. He'd never willingly make an appearance on the blog.
Here's to a great week!
