Bonjour! My name is Whitney and I write over at Whitney à la mode! I'm a twenty-something French teacher in the Washington D.C. area (although I'm a Michigander at heart). On my blog, I write about my journey to become more fashionably put-together and creative on a teacher's budget. Did you know that "à la mode" means "in style" in French?
I'm really happy to be guest posting for Bri while she is soaking up the love on her honeymoon! Is it just me or are you really excited to see her beautiful wedding photos and to hear about her honeymoon adventures too?
Chalk it up to the doldrums of winter, but with the start of the new year, I found myself in a bit of a style rut! One way that I've been able to re-inspire myself, however, has been to pull out some of my favorite warm-weather pieces and to make them work for winter!
This fun floral dress was on constant rotation this past summer! The bold print and colors helped it to stand on its own when the weather was too hot for layers. When I reached for it on a recent dreary morning, it immediately brightened my mood! It was fun to choose a color from the print to highlight with a cardigan. There are so many pretty hues, though, that I can easily remix this look with other cardigans and blazers!
What was your favorite piece to wear last summer and how could you use it to brighten your winter wardrobe?
Merci for stopping by today and I hope you will visit me sometime at Whitney à la mode!
