Break is Over

I didn't get a 2-week winter break this year, like all of you teachers and students out there, but I did have a really relaxed office during the holidays. People took time off, the office was quiet, and dress code was even more relaxed than usual. And I fell right into that, pulling on a version of jeans, boots, and a top/scarf every day. But break is over. It's time to throw on the slacks, add a heel or wedge, and embellish with accessories. It's time to feel put together again, and this was the perfect outfit to force that feeling!

I hadn't worn these red slacks since the warm days of fall, mostly because I'm horribly uncomfortable when my feet or ankles are cold, but I figured I'd give them a try in winter with my favorite suede booties and a blazer. And honestly, it wasn't that bad, thanks to living in the Pacific NW instead of in the rest of the country, where you are all facing the frigid, frozen storm. I hope you're spending your time snowed in cuddled up with your loved ones and a great Netflix marathon!

Slacks: LOFT (these ones are SUPER cute)
Blazer: Hand-me-down from Fran! (similar)
Tee: LOFT
Nerd Glasses: Warby Parker
Booties: Hinge
Watch: Marc Jacobs (similar)

I'm having a seriously fun time putting together real outfits again now that the break is over. Now if only the weather would cooperate so I could wear shoes other than boots & booties!
