Guest Post: Fairy Wings Make Good Soup

Kim from Fairy Wings Make Good Soup is a new addition to my reading list - I found her through Franish, where she is a sponsor this month. Definitely recommend checking out her blog - you'll want to after reading her great guest post and checking out her adorable outfits!

Hello, WCIS readers! My name is Kim, and I blog over at Fairy Wings Make Good Soup. But today I’m filling in for Bri while she’s busy cruising in Alaska—how exciting!

I am a stay-at-home military wife and mom to one (my beautiful but beleaguering 3 year old daughter E).  Fairy Wings Make Good Soup is a lifestyle blog where I chronicle our adventures in both the stay-at-home mom lifestyle and the military family lifestyle. My blog features posts on style, recipes, and daily life.

This outfit in particular is the prime example of something I would have never worn before starting this bloggy adventure. As a SAHM (having seen too many episodes of What Not To Wear), I didn’t want to fall into a style rut of tees and yoga pants. So I started becoming more conscious of what I wore and how I wore it. A year ago, I would have called you crazy had you told me I’d be wearing colored pants. And the idea to wear my husband’s shirt as a button up tunic literally came to me in a dream. And then, of course, I belted it, because you gotta define that waist!

This outfit, however, fits all of my Stay-At-Home Mom Style criteria:
1.     It’s comfortable.
2.     I’m able to easily move around in it without concern for injury to either the clothing or myself.
3.     It’s easily washable, which means I don’t care if it gets dirty.
4.     I still look more put together than most of the moms at the playground.

Well, WCIS fans, that’s me and my style in a nutshell! Thanks for letting me take over your blog for a day, Bri!
