It's a Wedding Weekend Packing List Guest Post by My Sissy Kind of Day

Hi everyone!
I'm so excited to share my sissy with you guys one more time! I've featured a few of her outfits here before and I've been begging her to do a guest post series for the blog. She's headed to a wedding this weekend and wrote an amazing post with lots of outfits I'm dying to steal (when I lose 10lbs. and grow 2 inches to fit her clothes, of course).

Hi everybody!  I am sissy as I am so lovingly referred to in this blog.  I live in Portland, Oregon and am currently practicing being a career student getting my second bachelors in Interior Design.  I am an artist, girlfriend, best friend, cat owner/lover, lil sis, dancer, traveler, sipper(as opposed to drinker/wino), and cook. Growing up in a family that does a lot of traveling, one would think I would be an ace at packing.  On the contrary, I am a SERIAL OVER-PACKER.  With baggage fee's soaring, I figure its time for me to be more economical (and lets be honest, I never wear everything I pack anyway!).

This weekend I am headed to a wedding in sunny San DiAHgo:the whales vagina.  Inspired by my big sis' Mexico packing list, I knew I needed to pack ahead of time and try on all my outfits to make sure my clothes combo's were wearable!  For me, the key to packing light is choosing items with multiple options for day and night (and because I am fashionably disabled, jeans are my go to option).

I am going to be gone for 4 days/3 nights and I will be packing 1 pair of jean shorts, 1 pair of jeans, 1 dress, 2 tanks, 3 tops, 2 jackets, 1 bathing suit, 1 pair of sandals and two heels.  I took LOTS of pictures, which I feel is the best part of blogging, so I'll shut up now :).

Dress: Monteau (Thrifted from Buffalo Exchange for my Betty Draper halloween costume)
Shoes: Chinese Laundry (TJ Maxx) Belt:Target
Top: Ya Los Angeles (Sloan Boutique, Portland) Tank: BCBG (Nordstrom Rack) Shorts: Charlotte Rouse Shoes: Blowfish (hand-me-down from Momma)
When it gets cold I'll throw on this simple Billabong jacket
And for night time: Jeans: Hudson (Nordstrom Rack)
Shoes: Madden Girl (Nordstrom Rack)

Shrug: Free Hug (Nordstrom Rack)
Tank: Lululemon (if you don't have one, buy it now

Jacket: Element

And for daytime.

More options!  Just bought this shirt at the Rack,
its by James Perse and I call it my Jennifer Aniston shirt :).

Airport outfit.  I wanted something that might allow me to go to a bar once I got there.
The shoes are comfy and easy to take off in security.
Also, I wanted to wear some of my bigger items so as to keep
my suitcase load as light and tight as possible!
Top: Forever XXI
Well, there ya have it!  I'll be stylin' in San Diego, now if only the weather would cooperate so I don't even have to think about wearing the jackets I brought.  I am nervous about having only one pair of sandals, but they are versatile enough right?  Have I forgotten anything?  How would you describe my style?  I would say safe, predictable, wearable, and all around bland and boring!  Of course, these outfits will have accessories, but lets be real, they won't be too flashy.

I'll try to take some pictures on the trip so you can see how the outfits turned out IN REAL LIFE!  Hope you all enjoyed this, cuz its a whole lotta work...I gotta give bloggers more credit!  This will be my theme song for the weekend/exit song.
