We got approved by the bank for our loan to add a story to our house (!), and permits have been submitted to the city (eek!). I'll include some updates soon and a TON of before pictures will be taken. And then things are going to be a little unruly around here for a LONG time. To start, the photo above is from when I bought the house in 2012!
Some fabric for my first sewing project! The first project in the e-course I am in is a simple fabric garland, so I bought some fabric in my friend Cassie's wedding colors. We're hosting her bridal shower here so I thought it'd be fun to have a homemade garland - and we can use it for bachelorette party decor too! I'll be sure to show off the final product!
There were two days last week where I didn't get to see daylight due to being at the office (or on the road) long hours. But I did manage a couple of bathroom selifes:
I made soup this week! And it was delicious. I used this recipe as inspiration, but used sun-dried tomato feta chicken sausage and a TON more kale than called for, and then topped each bowl with a bit of crumbled feta. And let me tell you - the leftovers were AMAZING. Soup is way better on the second day, in my opinion! Thanks for your awesome soup recipe recommendations last week - I've got one of them on the docket for this week!

We're coming up fast on our 1 year anniversary! Our anniversary is on the 31st and since we are going to Costa Rica to celebrate, we decided to buy a little present (under $31!) for each other. AND we decided to keep it on theme with traditional gifts, making this year paper. Any suggestions?!?! Leave a comment and help a girl out!
