Travis suggested that instead of spending money on a new coffee table or ottoman, we just re-arrange using pieces we already have. I walked around the house to get inspired, and then made a quick switch between conference calls earlier this week. Not only does it totally work, but the entry feels more welcoming thanks to the taller tray stand, the rug is more visible, and Amos' favorite snooze spot now backs up to the couch so he can curl up without falling off the shelf, which used to happen all the time when the table was by the front door!
I've been saving money super successfully. Travis and I signed our lives away this week on a second-story addition to our home. Not really, but kind of. We've started working with an architect to get some plans put together with the goal that by March of next year we start construction. So we're saving. Big time. I do have a few things I'll be buying this month, and I'll be sure to show them here when I do. Until then, this section of our weekly update may be a bit boring.
A little bathroom selfie from a work trip this last week. Loving the grey in this Le Tote shirt. It pairs so well with my other wardrobe pieces, especially this tassel necklace and thin cardigan. I sent it back this week, and I'm looking forward to my next tote!
Married life has not been kind to my eating habits, so I'm back on the 4 hour body to get myself whipped back into healthier eating. My husband is pretty incredible and will run to the store to get ice cream whenever I have a bad day - and lately, I've been craving a strict plan to stop relying on cheese and ice cream and chocolate - and I've loved the 4HB eating plan in the past, so I've re-committed myself. And you guys - I'm feeling amazing. Here's some of what I've eaten:

Travis doesn't love to buy me flowers, and while it was something that really bothered me early on, it really doesn't now. He has no problem with me buying flowers myself, which I'm happier with anyway, as I enjoy picking them out and arranging them in various vases. This week I got to go to a fun event at Whole Foods hosted by Lisa from With Style and Grace where we got to arrange flowers in mason jars and learn all kinds of tips about how to arrange them and how to photograph them. It has made me super happy every day since then when I come into the kitchen and spot the blooms. Do you guys buy flowers for your home? Or do you have someone who loves to gift them to you?
Coming this week
Some outfits, finally.
Photos of a chicken coop we are hopefully building today.
Some wedding photos. I think.
