So apparently I was too late last time I wore this dress and none of you were able to pick it up at H&M for $10. Tragic!
I wanted to wear it differently this time — as is always my goal — so I had to brainstorm how to reel in the shapeless silhouette without a belt. Thankfully I have this great little black blazer that, while a bit hot for the afternoon, was a perfect add-on to ensure I didn't look like I was wearing a houndstooth-print burlap sack.

I'm excited to try it in the winter with tights and boots, too!
How would you style this dress?? Any unique suggestions out there?

Love the outfit, Lady!! Houndstooth is so good!!
ReplyDeleteThe houndstooth is great but that blue necklace and blue shoes really shine! I love the accessories :) Also - what are you mani colors? LOVE the blue too! (apparently I'm obsessed with blue today :)) Found you via Real Girl Glam - hope you'll come check out my site! :)

Thanks!!! I'm a huge fan of it too :)
ReplyDeleteLove this look with the dress - the blue accents are fantastic with the graphic black and white print (and the mani - love it!) I think it would also be great with burgundy accents for fall - maybe a cardi or tights?
ReplyDeleteOoh yes!! I'm loving all the deep reds - that WOULD look great with this! Great suggestion! I think I even have some burgundy tights from last year I could wear :) :)
ReplyDeleteUm..... $10 for this dress?!? What a steal! Absolutely love that you paired with the black blazer and cobalt necklace. Such a good look! Thanks for linking up for Real Girl Style!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! And, I KNOW! It was a crazy steal!
ReplyDeleteI thought this outfit was perfect when I saw the first photo - the houndstooth with the cobalt bubble necklace is genius! But then when I saw it paired with the flats... a-ma-zing!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I can give you any alternate styling tips. I would try experimenting with a scarf as a belt (tied in the back to avoid bulkiness in the front). Or you could try layering a top under the dress, although that won't help with the bulkiness. Sorry!

Thanks so much Kate!! Flats are a must working downtown and walking around so much. I'll definitely be testing out ways to wear it in the winter, so a scarf is a great suggestion! Helps draw the eye somewhere else even if it doesn't do a ton of literal slimming!! I'll be sure to highlight the dress again on the blog, too.
ReplyDeleteHoundstooth is such a classic print; and somehow blue gives it a great tint of accent!

I paired it with blue shoes too! :)
