I tried on so many accessories today, I almost missed my bus.
I've been working so hard on accessorizing, and I really tried to put a lot into it today. But everything, and I mean everything, looked like I was trying too hard. And while I don't talk about my theories about how I dress often, I will tell you that I will never wear an outfit that makes me feel uncomfortable. And trying too hard = uncomfortable.
So as I stood in front of the mirror, begging my creative juices to start flowing, I remembered something I read from Kendi this week, and decided to just go with this outfit as it was, sealed with a KISS (Keep it Simple, Stupid).
| This outfit is sealed with a KISS. |
| Dress: Not Sure, Cardigan: J. Crew Factory (similar), Flats: Banana Republic (similar), Belt: came with a really old dress from who knows where |
What do you guys think? Did this outfit need some more accessorizing?!
It's Wednesday! Linking up with my friends below:

Hi! I'm visiting from the What I Wore Wednesday link up! Simple but cute! I love this look! I might have to remember this outfit next time I can't figure out what to wear!

Thanks for stopping by Lindsey!! Definitely a pretty basic look to keep as a back-up plan! Hope to see you back here again soon :)
ReplyDeleteI love the the outfit as is! I always combine the wise advice of Coco Chanel and Phyllis Neffler and say too many accessories clutter and outfit so take one off before leaving the house :)

Such good advice! I'm so glad I don't have the over-accessorizing problem :)
ReplyDeleteSealing it with a KISS = win. I am in love with your shoes. And really the whole outfit. You look comfortable yet put together and cute. Just enough accessories. I think you should talk MORE about your theories on how you dress!!
ReplyDeleteNope. I think it is perfect as is! You look great and comfy. ;)
ReplyDeleteGosh, these shoes. They are not for girls with chunky feet like me, but with a couple weeks of tv-watching with socks and these flats on, they stretched out into some of the most comfortable shoes I wear. Lesson learned - give shoes time to stretch out at home and even the most painful shoes become your favorites! (For the record, they were on sale for like $30 and Ash bought them first and I loved them and so I couldn't resist them even though they were quite snug!)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much :) :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I have done the same thing with trying on too many things because I can't decide! It also usually ends up with all the discarded items in a jumbled mess on the floor/dresser, which is never fun. Perfect choice of jewelry though, it works so well with this outfit (which I love!). I think I have trouble choosing jewelry when I'm wearing a belt at my natural waist like this - everything seems to interfere, or exactly like you said, seem so try-hard, but the simple pendant is a perfect match! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit!

Gosh the pile of tried-on items is the worst! It would take half a second for me to re-hang things up, but it just never happens! I think that's a good point on the belt+necklace - too much in that one area to make it work with any balance!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Marta!!!
